love emotions are an unusual thing.

when you have to turn them down,
sometimes it hurts.

you used to get all the love,care & attention you always ever wanted.
special treatment.
but deep down inside,
you know it's wrong to take advantage of their feelings.

you wanted them so badly,
but you know you don't deserve them.

one cannot be selfish or greedy.
there's another girl out there,
waiting to be loved.

because,
and you already have someone who loves you.

you can't have two, or three, or four.
you can only have one.
one for whom to love wholeheartedly.

it's not fair if they give all,
and you give half.
it doesn't work like that.

it hurts cause you don't like to see them hurt
you want to repay them in kind,
but you after all, you can't.

all you can give is a honest answer,
a sorry,
a smile,
a thank you,
& keep that piece of fond memory you've shared.

& you'll hope that they'll accept it gracefully,
& still treat you with the same love, care & attention.

but that special treatment,
will be given to someone else who deserves it more.

just because,
